New Business

Bob Cowan, Tournament Director, talked about turning in dead fish and gave the following steps in helping to keep our fish alive.

·         Know how to properly use your live well system.

·         Make sure your live wells are working properly.

·         Have some type of live well treatment on hand.

·         Use ice / frozen water jugs on extreme hot weather days.

·         Don’t line up at the scales with your fish.

·         Bassmaster web article on Livewell Management.

Ron Hunt, Vice President, talked about the increased number of new members over the past two years and club operating costs.   A motion was made and passed to increase the membership dues from $20 to $25.   Another motion was made and passed addressing new members.  The club will not be accepting any new “boater” members at this time.  All current members will be ‘grandfathered’ in. The club officers can reopen “boater” membership when they feel necessary.  The club will be accepting “non-boaters” for membership.  New “non-boaters” must be sponsored by a current member who needs a partner.

Ronell Foster, President, and Gene Henry talked about handing out trophies or plaques at the end of the tournament year. This idea was voted down by the attending members.

Jim Wyatt talked about the Fishing for Freedom Tournament, sponsored by the Leavenworth Bass Club.   This event will be held on October 6 & 7 at Long Shoal Marina.  This is the same weekend as our club Fish-Off tournament.  Bob Cowan, Tournament Director, will be asking for donations by ‘passing the hat’ at the August 12 and September 8 tournaments.   All donations will be given to the Leavenworth Bass Club to help fund the Fishing for Freedom event.

Joe Wiley explained how to become a member of the Missouri Bass Federation.  The attending members voted to not be part of the Missouri Bass Federation this year.

The following were elected as 2012 officers:

Joe Wiley - President

Ron Hunt - Vice President (Unopposed)

Ralph Iseman – Secretary

Bob Cowan will remain as Tournament Director

Owen Neff - Treasurer

Joe Wiley made a motion to have another meeting later (date to be determined).

Meeting adjourned by Ronell Foster
